The company KOMATSU was founded in 1917 as a subsidiary of mining company «Takeuchi» for the production of equipment for domestic use, but after four years became a separate company. In 1931, at KOMATSU was produced the Japan's first agricultural tractor and in 1940's began production of large hydraulic presses and the first Japanese bulldozers . In the next decade, after the transfer of the head office in Tokyo and the opening of new plants, the company is actively expanding the range of products.
